Their Majesties departed the hospital Thursday and travelled in a royal van to the palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. It was their first visit to Klai Kangwon in almost four years.
At 4.25pm, cheers of "Long Live Their Majesties" reverberated around the hospital as the royal van the King and Queen were travelling in emerged from the underground area of the hospital.
His Majesty, wearing an orange jacket and accompanied by the Queen who was dressed in blue, looked glowing with health and grace.
The King and the Queen waved and smiled to cheering crowds clad in the royal colours of yellow and pink. The assembled masses held up pictures of Their Majesties and waved national flags and flags bearing royal emblems.
The King and the Queen arrived at Klai Kangwon Palace about 6.50pm, with well-wishers thronging the streets leading to the palace and chanting "Long Live Their Majesties".
The general health of the King and Queen has improved considerably. Now that they are feeling better the King and Queen want to move to Klai Kangwon Palace to recuperate and relax.
The King will turn 86 on Dec 5 this year.
Narisara Lertmuang, from Ayutthaya, said she was delighted to learn that His Majesty has been discharged from hospital, which means that he is now in good health.
"The weather in Hua Hin should be better and should help him recuperate," she said.
Update: A sea of people, mostly in pink and yellow, outside Siriraj Hospital cheered the King and Queen with chants of "Long Live Their Majesties" as they left for their first visit to Klai Kangwon Palace in five years on Thursday.
Their Majesties departed the hospital about 4pm in a royal motorcade accompanied by royal doctors and nurses on their way to the palace in Hua Hin district in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
Well-wishers had gathered at the hospital since the morning, after the announcement by the Royal Household Bureau through Prachuap Khiri Khan governor Weera Sriwathanatrakoon, that the royal couple would move to the seaside town of Hua Hin, with no schedule on how long they will reside there in the palace.

Well-wishers are gathering at Siriraj Hospital to greet the King and Queen, who will leave and travel to Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin at 4pm on Thursday.
A large number of people have occupied areas in the hospital where Their Majesties were expected to walk to a royal motorcade to take them to the seaside town in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
Tens of thousands of well-wishers were expected to turn out along the route to try and get a glimpse of the King and Queen in Hua Hin district and in places along Phetkasem road where the motorcade will pass on its way to the palace.
Udom Kachintorn, dean of the faculty of medicine at Siriraj Hospital, said on Thursday that the King and Queen are healthy and ready for the trip.
A team of royal doctors and nurses would accompany them to the palace, and all needed medical equipment had been installed at the palace and at Hua Hin Hospital nearby, Dr Udom said.
"We are fully ready. Assignments for doctors and nurses will be the same as Siriraj. The number has not been reduced,'' he added.
The last time Their Majesties visited the palace was in 2008.
His Majesty has been in Siriraj since September 2009. Her Majesty was admitted to the hospital in July 2012.
Hua Hin officials have set aside parking space for 3,000 cars in 19 locations near the area for people to get a glimpse of them to leave their vehicles.
The landscape along the route has been spruced up and national and royal flags were flying on part of Phetkasem, which leads to the palace.
The Royal Thai Navy has deployed five ships to stations in the Gulf of Thailand offshore from the palace since 8am on Thursday, three frigates and two patrol boats, navy chief Adm Surasak Rounroengrom said.
The navy will fire a salute to honour Their Majesties as they arrive at Klai Kangwol, he added.
