"Thumbs up" or "Thumbs down"?
Our photographers have been out and about around the country capturing Songkran activities. You decide what is appropriate/inappropriate for this traditional festival. Give your "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to what you see.

"Thumbs up" or "Thumbs down"?
It's time for you to decide what the ideal Thai Songkran festival should allow or not allow, encourage or discourage. Look at these photos and decide which ones should get a "thumbs up" and which ones should get a "thumbs down". I have given both positive and negative comments to explain your choice, but you might have your own. Tell us on our Facebook page
Songkran on Khao San road. WISIT THAMNGERN
Thumbs up: The great thing about Songkran at Khao San road is that people from all over the world gather together for the fun. Language is not a problem.
Thumbs down: Khao San road is out of control. It's an embarrassment to Thailand and its traditional Songkran.
Families worship together at Wat Chai See in Khon Kaen province. KANCHANA AHYUWATTHONCHAI
Thumbs up: Songkran is a time of year when families, including family members who live and work elsewhere, can worship together.
Thumbs down: Songkran should be a fun time. You can visit temples any time of the year.
Powder for the ladies. PATIPAT JANTHONG
Thumbs up: Even total strangers can have fun together during Songkran.
Thumbs down: Young men often do more than just put powder on lady's faces. It should be "no consent, no powder".
High above Wong Wian Yai during Songkran with very little traffic. KRIT PROMSAKA NA SAKOLNAKORN
Thumbs up: For those who stay in Bangkok, it is easy to get around because so many people have left the city.
Thumbs down: A quiet Bangkok? How boring that is.
Freedom of expression? JIRAPORN KUHAKAN
Thumbs up: Songkran is a time when both men and women can take a few freedoms with how they look.
Thumbs down: Songkran should not be an excuse for improper behaviour – and that includes how you dress!
Water fun at Khlong Taling Chan WISIT THAMNGERN
Thumbs up: The passengers are obviously well-prepared for the battle.
Thumbs down: What about the passengers who don't want to get wet? Water attacks against public transport – boats, buses, taxis, etc. should not be allowed. They are annoying and possibly dangerous.
The "tunnel" at Silom road where everyone comes out drenched. NARUPON HINSHIRANAN
Thumbs up: It's great for the city to set up special Songkran zones where people can splash themselves safely.
Thumbs down: The city should support traditional Songkran activities, but not craziness.
A scene at Wat Chaisee in Khon Kaen KANCHANA AHYUWATTHONCHAI
Thumbs up: Songkran is a time for cleansing the soul.
Thumbs down: People need to do more than just make merit – and they often don't.
Revellers on a pickup truck are ambushed on the Bang Kruai-Sai Noi Road in Nonthaburi. CHANAT KATANYU
Thumbs up: This is fun for both those on the vehicle and those on the side of the road. It has been going on for years and people know what they are doing.
Thumbs down: Vehicles, especially in slippery conditions, are deadly weapons when they lose control.
A foam party from our own M2F free newspaper outside CentralWorld. PHRAKRIT JUNTAWONG
Thumbs up: A fresh, fun idea for the modern Songkran.
Thumbs down: Who's going to clean up that mess?
A high-pressure spray gun at Silom road. NARUPON HINSHIRANAN
Thumbs up: Relax, It's Songkran. It can be a bit jolting, but no-one gets hurt.
Thumbs down: These spray guns are not only annoying – they hurt – but they can be dangerous for unprotected eyes. I thought they were illegal.
Motorcyclists in Din Daeng. PORNPROM SATRABHAYA
Thumbs up: This looks bad, but motorcyclists leave off their helmets for a reason. It is difficult to see when wearing a helmet and it is very uncomfortable when you are hit by water.
Thumbs down: The law says those on motorcycles must wear helmets and for good reason. Seventy percent of the road deaths over Songkran involve motorcycles.
Coming home: On a train nearing Hua Lumphong station in Bangkok. WICHAN CHAROENKIETPAKUN
Thumbs up: The Songkran holiday is long enough – too long for many. It's time to go home and get back to work.
Thumbs down: Songkran is too short. Two more days and the weekend would have been great.
